As PSRMA continues to grow and thrive as one of San Diego’s premier museum attractions, we are making every effort to make our facilities accessible to those with disabilities. Significant progress has been made at our Campo facility to provide more concrete sidewalks, ramps and easy-access pathways. Most trains departing from the Campo Depot are wheelchair accessible, the Valley Flyer when using a caboose, is not wheelchair accessible. We do ask that you indicate when purchasing tickets that you will need assistance so that the train crews will be ready to assist you.
Due to the design of many of our vintage railroad cars on static display at La Mesa and Campo, we are not always able to provide access to these pieces of equipment. As you well know, design requirements have changed significantly over the last century and did not include accommodations for those traveling in wheelchairs. We are making every effort to provide access to more trains every day. We ask that you respect these limitations.
If you have any questions about your next trip to Campo or La Mesa regarding your accessibility concerns, please visit the Contact Us page and send us an email. We will be more than happy to answer any and all questions that you may have.
