North Pole Limited

The famous North Pole Limited returns to celebrate the holiday season. This special holiday production is offered with the help of the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum Association’s volunteers in cooperation with Mountain Empire and Bonita Vista Valley High Schools.

The fun begins at the lighted Campo Depot. Pick up your tickets from the Ticket Agent in our restored passenger waiting room. We recommend you plan on arriving at the Campo Depot at least 45 minutes before your train departs to allow ample time to park, get your tickets, and pass through our gift shop. Don’t forget to stop by the Hobo Camp next to the Depot to hear tales from railroading’s past.

Once onboard the North Pole Limited, Santa’s elves will sing our favorite Christmas carols, read a popular Christmas story to all of our young ones, and pass out cookies and hot chocolate to all passengers. The North Pole Limited will stop at Santa’s Workshop to pick up Santa and Mrs. Claus who will visit with all passengers on the train on our way back to the Campo Depot.

The train ride lasts for approximately 90 minutes depending on the number of passengers Santa needs to visit with.

Seating Choices and Fares

The North Pole Limited has two main classes of tickets, Coach and First Class.  Passengers riding in Coach Class will enjoy the North Pole Limited from one of our restored 1920s vintage commuter cars.  These seats are most numerous and lowest priced.  Passengers riding in Coach Class will enjoy all of the above activities as we head to the North Pole.

Coach Fares for the North Pole Limited Start At:
  • Toddlers (under age 3 riding in an Adult’s lap) – $10
  • Children (ages 3 – 12) – $25
  • Adults (ages 13+) – $35

Note: Tickets for train rides departing closer to Christmas Day will be higher in price than these starting fares.

Those looking for a premium travel experience may want to consider purchasing First Class train tickets.  The Museum offers two First Class cars – Union Pacific long-distance chair car #576 and Santa Fe lounge car #1509.  In addition to the hot chocolate and cookie service, both cars offer complimentary soft drinks and candies along with larger seats, more legroom, and a premium atmosphere.  Those riding in Santa Fe lounge car #1509 may step out onto the open-to-the-air rear platform as the North Pole Limited glides up to the North Pole.

First Class Fares for the North Pole Limited Start At:
  • Toddlers (under age 3) – $10
  • Children (ages 3 – 12) – $40
  • Adults (ages 13+) – $50

Note: Tickets for train rides departing closer to Christmas Day will be higher in price than these starting fares.

For the ultimate travel experience the Museum has also made the Robert Peary car available for charter. The Peary offers all the same amenities as the other first class cars, but individual tickets are not sold; the entire car is chartered in one purchase. If you have either a large group or are looking for a more private atmosphere, this option is for you. The cost to charter the Peary starts at $1200 and can accommodate up to 20 people.

Note: The Robert Peary tickets are currently not for sale while the car undergoes some TLC in our maintenance shop.  We will release these tickets for sale as soon as we can!

Wheelchairs and Other Mobility Equipment

PSRMA makes every effort to provide assistance for the mobility impaired on our trains.  However, our passenger cars were designed before wheelchair access was mandated by law.  Large wheelchairs, power chairs, walkers, scooters, and other mobility devices may not fit through the doorways or aisleways of certain passenger cars.  It may be necessary for mobility-impaired passengers to walk through doorways or down a hallway under their own power with the assistance of one or more Museum personnel.  Please email info@psrm.org if you have additional questions or need to verify the size of your mobility equipment.
